Apply Now for Ohio’s K-12 Scholarship Programs

Did you know your child could be eligible for a scholarship that can be used toward private school tuition? Ohio is home to five scholarship programs available for students in grades K-12 that help families like yours send their children to a private school of their choice. Families can find out now if their child could be eligible for one of the scholarships by using School Choice Ohio’s School Voucher Eligibility Tool. The EdChoice Scholarship Program is available for students who attend the state’s lowest rated public schools. To see if your child’s school is on the Ohio Department of Education’s EdChoice-designated schools list, click here. The scholarships are worth $4,250 for students in grades K-8 and $5,000 for high school students and are renewable through high school graduation.

The Income-Based Scholarship Program, an expansion of the EdChoice Program, is available to families who meet specific income guidelines. Any student entering kindergarten, first- or second-grade whose family’s income is at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines is eligible to apply. For example, a family of four making less than 48,500 is eligible to apply. Click here to see the full income-eligibility chart. The scholarships are worth $4,250 and are renewable through high school graduation.

The Cleveland Scholarship and Tutoring Program is available for students who live in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. The scholarships are worth $4,250 for students in grades K-8 and $5,700 for high school students. They are renewable through high school graduation.

Ohio is also home to two scholarship programs for students with special needs. The Autism Scholarship Program is worth $20,000 each year and applications are accepted year-round. The Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship Program is worth up to $20,000 each year, depending on the child’s needs. An application window for this program will open in the fall.
